Vicenza vs. Aviano

The Vicenza Cougars had their first away game this weekend in Aviano, Italy.

They had a major carb loading dinner in the High School the night before and then spent the night in the gym.  Connor loved it!
We met up with the team later on Saturday in Aviano.

Vicenza's cheerleaders and marching band also traveled to Aviano for the game!  

You can't see the score but it was 44-0!

Labor Day

You're supposed to "labor" on Labor Day... right?  

We used the day to get lots of yard work done.  

cleaning out the old rose bed and getting it ready for new roses!

Our beautiful garden that Jeremy does such a great job of maintaining.  I do a great job of eating it all!!  :)

Aiden loves to mow our HUGE yard!!!  Especially since it's as close to "driving" as he gets. 

I really love our home and yard!

 First Football Game:  Vicenza vs. SHAPE (Belgium)

Connor has been working SO HARD on the football team.  First was the football camp in Germany and then 6 days of grueling tryouts!  Then 2 hour practices Monday through Friday.  He comes home every night with new cuts, scrapes, and bruises and STILL loves it!!  I have to admit... I was a little nervous for his first game - but the team played great together.  They were ready!

National anthem led by the High School JROTC - this is also a class that Connor is in.

Dance team and band played as the players came out!  It gave me goosebumps!

Date Night
Jeremy and I were able to squeeze in a quick date night this weekend.  I can never resist taking pictures of our meals.  The Italians never disappoint!!

First day of school!

This year all 3 kids are in 3 different schools!  

I can't believe Connor is starting High School!!!  

Aiden's starting 7th grade at the Middle School

Whitney's starting 4th grade at the Elementary School

Every year we have gone to get a gelato after school on the 1st day and the last.
This year I could only talk Whitney into going with me.

The first day of school was also the final day of Football tryouts.
Connor had 6 days of tryouts and almost half of the kids trying out had to be cut. 

You're looking at one of the newest members of the Vicenza High School football team!!
There were 20 freshmen that tried out and Connor was 1 of only 7 who made the team.
