Little Beethoven

I took this picture at the beginning of March. Whitney would stand on her very tip toes to barely hit the keys of the piano.

She has since discovered an easier way.....

I must be crazy!!

The kids wanted to go play tennis at the park but my Van was in the shop getting new brake pads. So, they suggested we walk to the park (Meadow Lake Park)... and that's what we did. It's only about 1 mile away, but there was all kinds of drama along the way. lol! I don't think any of us want to do that again soon.

Independence Day

On the 4th of July we loaded the kids up in the wagon and took them to VillageFest.

They had waterslides there. I thought they would just get a little wet at the top. I didn't see the huge pool at the bottom. They were soaking wet the rest of the day.

They also had pony rides there. Don't the boys look thrilled!?!
They got to practice putting out fires with REAL firemen.

That night we headed over to Corporate Woods for a picnic and fireworks.

Whitney couldn't be happier with her favorite food in the world.

Connor and Aiden played in this big open field forever. It was so fun to watch them. Their new favorite game is Truth or Dare (but they only pick dare). You can see Aiden got Dared to dance in front of everyone below.

Summer Fun!!

I found a splash park here! Loose Park. The kids loved it!!

FedFleet

We were gone all last week to Dallas, Texas. Jeremy had to go there for a national meeting with FedFleet and his boss told him to bring the whole family. The kids had tons of fun but it wasn't much of a vacation for me since Jeremy was in meetings all day. Also, all 5 of us in one hotel room was interesting. We had to put Whitney's crib in the bathroom and run water in there since they didn't have a fan. We found a sitter in Dallas through http://www.sittercity.com/. She would come around 7:00 and put the kids down while Jeremy and I went out for dinner. That was fun. The sitter was awesome! The kids loved her.

Here are some pics of how the kids and I passed the time during the days...
Dallas World Aquarium

Imax Theater: 3-D movie about Whales and Dolphins

(Whitney was so cute. She was clapping her hands, laughing, trying to touch and kiss the whales and dolphins but once there was a huge eye on a whale that looked like it was right next to us. She got scared and started crying, burying her face in my shirt. lol!)
Harry Potter movie in the park with Hooters for dinner
Playing at the park
Cuddling with Daddy when he got back to the room
Jumping from bed to bed
Swimming every day
Lots of naps

Camp Cates

Jeremy was in DC for a work trip so we built a huge fort involving a couch, card table, dining room table, 6 folding chairs, 2 high chairs, and every blanket we own.

Gentlemen

Connor's favorite book in the world is a book that his Uncle Peter gave him titled "The Dangerous Book For Boys" by Gonn Iggulden and Hal Iggulden.

His favorite chapter of the book is "Advice About Girls". In this chapter the authors tell boys what girls like and don't like and how to be gentlemen. The advise is to always wet your hair down when you comb it and to have clean fingernails. The boys came downstairs with dripping wet hands and hair and smelling like Jeremy's cologne. They informed me that they are now gentlemen. Connor showed me how gentlemen scratch their noses (with one finger going side to side under his nostrils.) lol!

Anyone with young boys should get this book. Connor took it for sharing time 3 times last year at school. We have used it to learn how to make paper airplanes, crystals, identify insects and spiders, learn about planets, secret codes, juggling, coin tricks, dog tricks, and more.

Thanks Peter!
