Buddy Bench

With the school year coming to an end, so is Student Council.  Whitney has been very active in Student Council this entire year.  Her number one reason for wanting to be in Student Council this year was to start a Buddy Bench program and they are going to pull it off just in time!

The bench is used on the playground for kids to sit if they can't find their friends, they are new, they don't know what to do.  If another kid sees someone sitting on the bench they will approach them and ask them to play.

With such a high turnover at the school here, this will be a very helpful and widely used bench!!

So proud of her sweet, giving, loving heart!!
10 Years Old!!!

Whitney turned 10 this week!!!  No more single digits!

Lunch with Whitney at school.  Her lunch request was chicken soft tacos from Taco Bell and lemonade from Charlie's

Recess music group :)

Her class sang happy birthday before passing out the cupcakes

While the kids were eating their cupcakes, Whitney's teacher pulled me aside to show me this beautiful letter that Whitney typed for her during Teacher Appreciation Week

Whitney and her teacher, Mrs. Goodfellow.  She has been a wonderful teacher for Whitney!

Whitney's birthday dinner request was biscuits and gravy.  Afterwards, we had cake and ice cream and presents!!!

So fun!!!  Happy Birthday Whitney!!!

Lunch Date
My good friend is leaving us next week so we celebrated at a sushi restaurant just walking distance from my office.  Oh my... it was so good!!!

So sad to say good bye!
Krissy and her family were in the same hotel with us when we first moved here and now they're leaving!
Birthday Party!!!

Whitney invited her whole class to a laser tag/arcade party.  19 of 22 kids showed up!
It was so much fun!!

Getting ready to go in for laser tag.
There were so many kids that we had to split them up into 2 groups.

We love you sweet girl!
Merit Badge University

Jeremy organized a combined troop Merit Badge University that took place all day on Saturday.
There were a total of 6 Merit Badge offered for the day and each scout was able to sign up for 2 (1 in the morning and 1 in the afternoon).
I signed up to teach the Public Health Merit Badge.

I was surprised that so many boys got up so early and spent their entire Saturday earning merit badges.
These are some great boys and a devoted scout master!

Completing the Public Health Merit Badge by practicing safe food handling practices for lunch!

After lunch they got to blow off some steam throwing the football around in the church parking lot

Storage

When Jeremy agreed to stay in Italy longer for his job they said we could have our storage from the US shipped to us if we wanted.
The good part was that there was a lot of stuff in storage that we had wished we brought over - like our piano, couches/chairs, etc...
The bad part was that it was all or nothing.  There's a lot of things that we didn't need - like an American washer and dryer!

Field Day 2017

I don't think I've missed a single field day for any of my kids since they started going to school.  It's always so fun!

Father and Son Campout 2017

The annual Father and Son Campout was this weekend at our house again.
(Is it just me or does anyone else think it's weird that they always choose Mother's Day weekend to have this campout for Fathers and Sons.....?)

Just starting to get set up!

Whitney wanted to be a son soooooo bad!
My fire starter!

Fireside....by the fire!

Bishopric made breakfast the next morning
Baseball Game

vs  Aviano.... again

Aiden got to pitch for part of the game again

Aiden's favorite friend on the team
 Mother's Day

I told the kids that the only thing I wanted for Mother's Day was a picture of me with all of them.
With Jeremy taking the picture I knew we would only get one shot at it.
It's a miracle.... everyone's eyes were open!

They made me feel so loved today!!
"Of all the things I've ever done or ever will do in my life, being your mom will always be my greatest accomplishment!"

We finished the night off with a delicious steak dinner outside on our fire table that we just got back!
It was a perfect day!!

The best part of the night....  when Whitney's homemade "stress ball" popped covering me in flour!
We all laughed until our sides ached!!

Track

Whitney started on the track team this week.  She was really excited for it but I don't think she knew what she was getting herself into!

First lap to warm up
This was taken right after the warm up lap and then the coach said "now we're gonna run a mile".  lol!
I'm so proud of Whitney though.  She never gave up!  She had to walk but then she would start running again and didn't stop.
Good job Whitney!!

National Junior Honor Society

Aiden was invited by his teachers to join NJHS.  The middle school teachers only invite students who excel academically, set a good example for their peers, and display natural leadership skills.

We are so proud of you Aiden!!

Baseball

Jeremy and Aiden went to Aviano for their game this week.  The coaches had Aiden pitching for the first time!  He actually did really good!
