Happy 15th Birthday to AIDEN!!!

Aiden's 15th birthday was a crazy, busy, memorable day!!

The day started out early for a tennis match and birthday spankings from his teammates!
Warming up

Playing doubles

His match was a nail biter!
They were down 1-6 (first one to 8 wins), then they started making their come back.
In the end they lost, 5-8 but really played well!
Tennis ball cupcakes for his birthday

Homecoming 2018

Right after tennis was ending the homecoming football game was beginning!
We played the International School of Brussels (ISB) and won.  51-29!!

This was the first year since Connor's been on the team that they won their Homecoming game.  They were so happy!!

Birthday Party

After the football game we rushed home to get the boys ready for the dance and have a quick birthday party
Yes... store bought sushi, chocolate cheesecake, and grapefruit soda for his birthday dinner.  Did I mention we were rushed??

This was so fun!  I loved making them blush!!

Final Performance

This was also our last week of performances
They finally got a picture of me! This was really a funny skit!

This is always fun to do but it is also such a commitment... which is why it might be another 3 years before I do it again.

Homecoming 2018

Well... here's a first.  Not only is Connor going to go to a high school dance!!! He also asked a girl!! :)

Love both of these kids!!
Opening Night

This weekend was opening night for our show at Soldier's Theater!!  This is a show made up of 8 small comedy skits - that are ALL hilarious!!   Jeremy and I are in one called A Tall Order.   Jeremy is also in one of the other skits too.

This is the skit we are both in (they just cut me out of the pic! lol!)

Vicenza vs. Naples #65

Our football team traveled to Naples this week for their homecoming game Friday night.  Unfortunately, I was in Germany for work and Jeremy was holding down the fort in Italy so neither one of us was able to go.  Luckily, many parents did go and took lots of pictures!!

Waiting to play

Apparently it was a crazy game.  It was 7-6 and we were losing the entire game until 4th quarter.  At 58 seconds the score was 8-14 and we were winning...  then their coach stormed the field yelling at the refs so they took our touchdown away.  Then our coach stormed the field and they gave it back.  Then with less than a minutes to go Naples scored a touchdown but did not get the extra point so we won... 13-14!  Connor said half of the Naples kids were crying when they shook hands at the end. :(
Happy little cougars for the bus ride home!!

Tennis

Aiden had his first tennis match this weekend.  Luckily, I was back from Germany in time to watch him play.  However...  it was really weird.  They said he could play any time between 9-3pm but we would know who would play approximately 30 minutes before.  So, I kept going  back and forth but stayed on post the whole time running errands with Whitney so that I was close enough to run back quickly as soon as he told me he was going to play.  They *thought* he wouldn't play until around 2pm though.  Well.... at 12:30 I got a call that he just finished!  I missed the whole thing!!! (yes, I was furious!)

Aiden lost his match (4-8) but he was ok with it.  This was his first match EVER and he played against a Junior who has been playing for 3 years.  I am really proud of Aiden for putting himself out there and learning a new sport.  He is the only freshman on the team and doesn't have any other friends playing but he is sticking with it and everyone is amazed at how quickly he is picking it up!
Germany

I was in Germany for a week with work.  While I was not happy about having to leave for a week... it was a lot of fun seeing some familiar faces.  I worked with many of these people since 2009 when we lived in Mannheim.

 Labor Day 2018

We had a pretty lame Labor Day.  We wanted to do something fun but everyone was just so tired and enjoying sitting around doing nothing that we just couldn't quite muster up the energy to do anything.  However.... we did go to a new restaurant in the mall that we've been wanting to try, so... there's that.

Football

This weekend was Game 1!  So much excitement and anxiety all at the same time.
We loaded up on carbs Friday night before the game.

Here we go!!!  #65!!!

The freshmen cheering section!

Jeremy is in the background doing his job.... chain gang!

We lost to Rota, Spain (36-6).  Our team is pretty young this year... lots of freshmen and new players.
This is Connor's 3rd year on the team but he is definitely the exception.
Overall they played well, saw what they could do and what they needed to work on for the next game.

Back to School!!

Whoever said "a picture is worth a thousand words" could not be more right!!

A JUNIOR?!?

Freshman!

Middle School!!  6th Grade.

In middle school here the parents stay and go to all of the classes with their child on the first day.
It was fun to witness all the first day of school excitement first hand!
The most exciting part of the day was when Whitney conquered the locker!!

Tennis

This week was also official tryouts for Tennis.  2 hours every day after school.

Aiden made the tennis team!
He did a 1-week tennis clinic at the beginning of summer and picked up the sport so fast.
He is the only freshman on the team but seems to really like it!

Football

This week was also the official try outs for football even though they've been "practicing" for the last 3 weeks.

Third year in a row on the high school football team!  Playing Offensive and Defensive line.

It's crazy and hectic but nice to be back into the routine again!  What a busy, wild summer we had.  Ever since school got out in June someone in our family was in 9 different countries and I don't even know how many cities.  I'd like to say things will calm down now but... that's not how we roll!
