Volunteer Recognition Ceremony

The elementary school had a nice ceremony for the volunteers that helped in the class this year.

Ms. Geylani gave me these beautiful flowers to go with my certificate for all the work we did on the buddy bench
Middle School Field Day

I got to help out for the middle school field day this week.
It's rare to get to see my middle schooler during school.  I loved it!!
Water balloon toss

This was my event for the day
Junior Baseball European Championship Tournament

Well... here we go again!  Another European Championship tournament.
This time it's for baseball and it was in Stuttgart, Germany - where I used to work for 3+ years.

Ready to go!!

Party bus!!!
We had to stop to let the kids run around.  In total there were 3 bloody noses during this trip from the boys wrestling, etc...

Almost there!

Practicing pitching before the first game

National Anthem

Aiden was the first pitcher of the day!

Aiden's first hit

He got the first run of the day!

The boys played 2 games back to back.  They had 5 minutes to get a drink and then play again.  They were exhausted!
They lost both games and were really bummed out.
Coaches were having a heart to heart with them about lessons learned from losing.

The boys got cleaned up and were feeling a little better
We decided to take them all bowling to get their minds off the games today

Getting shoes was not easy!

I think everyone played 3 or 4 games!  Everyone was having a lot of fun!

Day 2 game was better!

Aiden's last time up to bat

They ended up losing their game today too... but they felt better about how they played and were happy

Quick picnic lunch before heading back to Italy

Back on the bus

Whitney was my little partner all weekend! :)
We had to stop at the most beautiful McDonalds on the way home.  Love that view!

It's good to see everyone smiling!  These boys learned a good lesson during this baseball season:
It's not about who won but how you played the game!
