Santuario della Madonna di Monte Berico
We wanted to hike up to Monte Berico this weekend but couldn't find the starting point to begin the hike so we ended up driving up there.
According to the legend, the Virgin Mary appeared to a peasant here in 1426 and 1428 to tell him to build a church - promising it would end their economic and health problems (from a terrible plague). They built the church 3 months after the second visit.
